Finally, A TV Show about Graphic Design

CMYK TV showSince we’ve dissected almost every other profession and aspect of our lives, why not do a “reality show” about graphic design? Well, America, it’s coming. “C.M.Y.K. America’s Top Graphic Designer” is filming this spring in Atlanta. Not sure how dramatic it will be to watch, as we do a lot of our work sitting in front of a Mac computer. (Not always, though!) But since we don’t know when we’ll see “Project Runway” again, this show could fill that design television void. Read more »

Adapting a New New York City Subway Map?

Vignelli 2008 Subway MapI’ve always been a map lover and collector but working for a design company that specializes in designing maps I find that I now analyze them to the nth degree.

Because of my love for travel I find transit maps the most interesting and found the book, Transit Maps of the World, to be one of my greatest collections of transit maps out there. It includes New York City’s Subway Map, fourth on the list of most used metro systems in the world, and dates back original designs from 1905.
