Finally, A TV Show about Graphic Design
Since we’ve dissected almost every other profession and aspect of our lives, why not do a “reality show” about graphic design? Well, America, it’s coming. “C.M.Y.K. America’s Top Graphic Designer” is filming this spring in Atlanta. Not sure how dramatic it will be to watch, as we do a lot of our work sitting in front of a Mac computer. (Not always, though!) I’ve always been a map lover and collector but working for a design company that specializes in designing maps I find that I now analyze them to the nth degree.
Living in New York, you see a lot of maps. I mean A LOT of maps. There are subway maps, bus maps, development maps, even those cool 3-D maps you see in the backseat of a yellow cab. And that’s not including the maps I’ve seen here at CSD.
Everyday we are bombarded by design, some memorable, some forgettable, but have you ever stopped and looked at our currency that flows in and out of our hands everyday? Maybe you noticed in the last couple years one of the most exciting changes, the addition of color. This design change was driven by security reasons and wanting to deter counterfeiters.
