2010 = HOPE
2010 is finally here….. thank God. Many colleagues, friends, and clients could not wait to turn the page on 2009, good riddance.
The new year represents a new start, a time to reflect back on the past with an eye towards the future. It’s a time to be thankful for the many people in your life. It’s a time to clean out the cubbards, for me I’ve been purging through 20 years of samples, mostly printed pieces. Going through the samples made me realize just how much change has occurred within the design industry over that span. For me, each piece had a person, a story attached to it. It made me realize the many blessings, the struggles, the achievements. It made me realize how CS Designworks has adapted to change and managed to pick itself up after each and every adversity.
So this leaves me with a heartfelt thought for the new year.
2010 = HOPE
In an effort to rid the Internet of outdated, inefficient, bandwith-guzzling websites, we have launched an ambitious program at CSD called Cash for Web Clunkers. Spinning off of President Obama’s successful Cash for Clunkers program, which expired August 23rd, where owners were able to trade in their old “clunker” for a generous $3,500 or $4,500 towards the purchase of a new fuel-efficient car.
As a trained designer I am always partial to exceptional design and design is always at the forefront of how I view the world.
I recently went to an amazing event called THRIVE: The Future of Printing sponsored at GSB’s print production facility and sponsored by HP. The format was pretty cool, it took place at in Long Island City. The backdrop was two amazing 21st century machines, the HP Indigo 5000 and the HP Indigo 5500. A couple hundred people filled the room to hear from experts Stephan Steiner, President, GSB, Rob Mangini, Director of Sales, GSB, Francis McMahon, Director of Marketing, HP and Jan Reicher, Vice President & GM Graphics Solutions Business & Imaging.
2008 has certainly challenged us – but it’s made all of us stronger. We are very thankful for our relationships with family, friends and colleagues. Heading into 2009, we look forward to changing directions, new beginnings and many exciting opportunities.
