Finally, A TV Show about Graphic Design
Since we’ve dissected almost every other profession and aspect of our lives, why not do a “reality show” about graphic design? Well, America, it’s coming. “C.M.Y.K. America’s Top Graphic Designer” is filming this spring in Atlanta. Not sure how dramatic it will be to watch, as we do a lot of our work sitting in front of a Mac computer. (Not always, though!) But since we don’t know when we’ll see “Project Runway” again, this show could fill that design television void.
According to the website, one goal of the show is to “showcase exceptionally talented graphic designers.” I’m really looking forward to peeking in on their process and the evolution of the project. I want to yell at the screen, “No, not a san serif type!” Actually, I think the most interesting aspect will be seeing how viewers react, as in who will watch it? Will non-designers get really into it? I hope they do right by us! No word on an air date, but I’ll be checking my local listings for sure.
